Now that's what I'm talking' about. It's been so long since some real
funny came along.
I truly can't believe one person can inhabit so many others so very
realistically and that everyone else can keep a straight face while
it's all going on. Brilliant, brilliant work. Marlon was tap-tastic.
Eddie, pimp-a-rific. And don't get me started on those outfits and
wigs!
Unfortunately, I think I've met each and every one of those characters.
Real to the core, only better. Thank you all for making real
entertainment again.
Laugh and laugh I did...from minute one until every last credit rolled.
Do I gush too much? Bravo!
Why was this movie good? It wasn't supposed to be good. It was supposed
to be a piece-of-crap romantic comedy but instead, it's an excellent
story in so many complicated, touching, veracious ways. In fact, in
coming up with an IMDb score, I tried to think of any one thing that
would detract from a perfect movie-watching experience and, can you
believe it? I can't.
Who packaged and promoted this film? Were they sleeping during the
screenings? From the first second, the quality of story and production
was evident. Multi-faceted, varied characters. Nuanced storyline. Fine,
fine performances. Beautifully done all around.
Thank you for this happy accident.
Saw this at the Tribeca Festival today and loved it. To be honest, it
started out pretty slowly but then, out of nowhere, it turns into this
sweaty ride. I know it's supposed to be making a political statement
and everything but aside from that, it's just good movie-going (once it
kicks in anyway).
Peter Krause gives it! And Khaled Abol Naga (the actor playing the
maybe or maybe not terrorist) was a really good match for Krause's
insaneness.
I'm a big fan of not being able to guess the ending and this movie
didn't disappoint. Anyway, if you're in New York, check this one out
before the festival's over if you can.
How can a film like this be totally ignored at the Oscars this year?
Not that the Oscars are the be-all...But this is tailor-made and pulled
off so well.
What a lovely piece of film-making. Congratulations all on a fine, fine
effort.
Loved the flow of the story. Loved the interplay of the characters. The
complexity and intensity! The reserved nature of so much of it. The
choking tension to know why. The pain of knowing.
And hats off to you, Mr.Williams for pulling just the right pieces from
the novel. Adaptation done well is rare, isn't it?
Beautiful. Thank you for this.
what the hell was that?!!!
i'm sorry but something has gone gravely amiss here. was that it? i'm
not sure there was anything going on but eternal setup...and for what,
i'm still not sure. and i don't know why i should care about either
character. at all. sorry kids but i need a little more meat to my
stories and a little intrigue.
some added points for obscure cameos. and minus two points for giving a
certain someone even one second more in the public eye.

This is a story well told. It's an intimate examination of the
consequences
of control.
The main character (Erika) is at the mercy of her lost/stolen self and
we're
left to watch
her wind tighter and unravel in desperation.
The performances are fittingly supreme.
I can't imagine it told any other way.
Thank you for this.
If I may gush some more, this is art at its best. It's truth and honesty
and
a bit of life not
ordinarily seen. Poo on those reviewers who see a faltering of sanity
where
compassion
for human frailty is needed.
Good job!
Caught this at Sundance and HIGHLY recommend. Think you got it all under control? Think you know what you want and why? Think again. Who said film can't be fun AND have a point? Great idea. Looks amazing. And killer soundtrack. This thing stayed with me for days. Yeah, we've seen computers and programmers in sci-fi before. This is closer to home than you think if you know anything about nanotechnology or the machinations corporate America. But then, once, no one believed in the internet either. I loved this film. Easily one of my festival faves. Lance Henriksen rocked.
